Welding

  • Our CWI will support all welding phases of each project to ensure applicable welding codes are met
  • Automatic welding fixtures are added to our portable boring bar system giving us the versatility needed to restore damaged or worn surfaces back to OEM requirements while minimizing heat distortion
  • Experienced and qualified technicians utilizing automatic welding systems

  • Experienced and qualified technicians utilizing various welding processes and filler metals

Machining

  • On-site in-line boring of turbine wicket gate bushings and coupling bolt bores

  • Use of portable boring bar to machine embedded surfaces to print dimensions and tolerances
  • Experienced technicians utilizing portable machining equipment
  • On fully assembled Kaplan turbines, portable machine tools mounted on Kaplan turbine runners to machine the discharge ring restoring OEM dimensions and tolerances
  • On-site field machining of embedded sole plates

Other services

  • Draco can utilize portable boring bar and calibrated micrometers and dial indicators to measure and record the turbine as-found dimensions and TIR's prior to the repairs, and the final dimensions and TIR's after repair completion
  • Prime-Resin two part epoxy grout used to fill the cavities between the turbine and embedded components and surrounding concrete
  • Perform liquid penetrant examination in accordance to ASTM E165 of weld repair surfaces
  • Perform magnetic particle examination of repaired surfaces
  • Fabrication and installation of new components such as man doors, aeration manifolds and vents, hand railing, both temporary and permanent personnel platforms
  • Remove severely worn turbine components such as scroll casing segments, draft tube liner, stationary vanes, high pressure balance lines, ect. and furnish and install new replacement parts conforming to the print dimensions and tolerances
  • Demolition of embedded concrete to replace embedded turbine components
